Welcolm to my blog

On here I will be listing the three projects that I have done in my first three weeks of college, the three projects are from different areas of media which are photography, video production and radio production.

Photography - Pin-hole camera's

A Pin-hole camera is very simply a camera with no lens and a single very small aperture. In a very simple way of explaining it, is that it is a light proof box with a small hole in one side. The light from a scene is passed through this single point and projects an inverted image on a piece of photographic paper on the opposite side of the box. The smaller the hole, the sharper the image. A pinhole camera's shutter is usually manually operated because of the lengthy exposure times, and consists of a flap of some light-proof material to cover and uncover the pinhole.

Photography - Exposure control

The size of the aperture and the brightness of the scene controls the amount of light that enters the camera during a period of time, and the shutter controls the length of time that the light hits the recording surface. Equivalent exposures can be made with a larger aperture and a faster shutter speed or a corresponding smaller aperture and with the shutter speed slowed down.

Photography - Apertures

An aperture is the size of the hole that lets in light on camera's and pinhole camera's that determins the type of picture that you get during the exposure the sizes are as follows:

f/1.4
f/2
f/2.8
f/4
f/5.6
f/8
